| The hope of finding and sustaining gainful employment is simply a pipe dream to some single parents restricted from working due to high child care costs, lack of education and minimal support. Project ANSWER (Activities Necessary for Successful Work Experience Results) helped erase those barriers transforming the nearly impossible into a plan and ultimately personal achievement. Project ANSWER gives a much-needed hand to eligible clients enrolled in Temporary Assistance For Needy Families (TANF), a federal block grant program formerly known as welfare. From securing suitable child care and tutoring for their children, to accessing medical care, counseling services and GED enrollment, Project ANSWER provides vision and empowerment to a wealth of families. Outreach is provided with a holistic, culturally sensitive approach. Counselors conduct convenient home visits and serve as motivators. Serving a large multicultural audience, including immigrants from various African countries, bilingual assistance is also provided to Spanish speaking clients. |
